Picture it: a field above Gorran Haven, the sea stretching out ahead of you, and a brand new holiday lodge to call your own. For eight lucky buyers, that picture is about to become a real possibility. Family-owned South West Holiday Parks has launched Ocean Fields, a new holiday lodge development at Seaview Holiday Park in Boswinger, near Gorran Haven in Cornwall, and the very first lodge positions are now open for reservation.

It is a lovely piece of news for this corner of the county, so here is a look at what is planned, what owners can expect and why it has caught our eye.

Meet Ocean Fields

As reported by CornishStuff on 14 October 2026, Ocean Fields is part of a £2 million investment by South West Holiday Parks. The first phase is being sold as The Founders’ Edition, described as the very first chance to own at Ocean Fields. Eight lodge positions are available in this opening phase.

There is something rather special about being among the first owners on a new development. You get to see a place take shape, help set the tone of the community and enjoy everything feeling fresh and new. A name like the Founders’ Edition captures that feeling nicely.

Take a look round the show lodge

Anyone interested can look round a Willerby Boston show lodge before choosing their own new lodge. Seeing a lodge in person is always a good idea. Photos and floor plans are helpful, but nothing beats stepping inside, checking the light, imagining where the morning coffee will go and getting a real sense of the space.

Show lodge viewings can be arranged through the Seaview Holiday Park ownership team, and more details are available on the South West Holiday Parks website. Pricing has not been included in the reporting we have seen, so anyone curious about costs, as reported October 2026, should check directly with the park.

Planning approval is in place

One of the most reassuring parts of this story is that the planning side has already been settled. Cornwall Council approved the plans with conditions on 29 May 2026, under planning application PA25/07756. The approval covers holiday lodges on an existing touring and camping area at Seaview, along with the infrastructure and landscaping that go with them.

The landscaping plans were revised after advice from the council’s forestry officer on planting and screening, which shows real care for how the development will sit in the countryside.

Josh Donald, Owner of South West Holiday Parks, said: “Seaview’s setting is what makes it special, and we’ve taken care over how Ocean Fields will fit into the landscape. We’ve listened to the advice on planting and screening because we want this development to feel at home in this part of Cornwall. As a family-owned business, we’re committed to the park and the area for the long term.”

It is always heartening to hear a family business talk about the long term. For owners, that kind of commitment from a park operator is often just as important as the lodge itself.

What owners will be able to enjoy

Ocean Fields will sit within the established Seaview park, so new owners will not be starting from scratch. Here is what has been reported:

  • A five-star rating. Seaview holds a five-star VisitEngland rating.
  • Open all year. The park is open for holiday use all year round.
  • Facilities to enjoy. Owners will be able to use the outdoor swimming pool, coffee lounge and gym.
  • Sea views. The fields above Gorran Haven look straight out to sea.
  • A clear timeline. The first owner lodges are due to be ready from Easter 2027.

Easter 2027 is not so far away. A Founders’ Edition owner could be planning their first spring break in the new lodge in well under two years, which is a nice thing to look forward to through the winter.

Holiday use only

It is worth being clear that these lodges are for holiday use only. They cannot be used as a permanent home or a main residence. That is standard for holiday parks, and it is something every buyer should bear in mind when thinking about how they will use their lodge.

Good news for Gorran Haven too

The benefits are not only for owners. South West Holiday Parks hopes that owners returning for breaks through the seasons will spend time in Gorran Haven and the neighbouring communities, bringing potential trade to local shops, restaurants and attractions outside the busiest summer weeks.

Anyone who has visited a Cornish village in the quieter months will know how welcome that can be. A warm cafe, a walk along the coast path and a pub supper on a crisp evening are among the joys of an off-season break, and visitors who come back again and again help keep those places going.
