Big plans are on the way for the East Yorkshire coast. Parkdean Resorts is to invest £5 million in Skipsea Sands Holiday Park, with a transformation scheduled for completion by Easter 2027, according to Hospitality & Catering News.

The investment forms part of Parkdean Resorts' wider £70 million programme of upgrades across its holiday parks during 2027.

What is planned at Skipsea Sands

Hospitality & Catering News reports that the programme will introduce a range of new activities and facilities, including:

  • Indoor adventure climbing and indoor adventure golf.
  • Off-road driving experiences for children aged four and over.
  • Expanded indoor and outdoor adventure play areas, alongside a bounce park, a sports court and a Bear Grylls-themed escape room.
  • Hat-Tricks, Parkdean Resorts' sports bar concept, featuring interactive darts, pool and shuffleboard alongside food and drink.
  • New food outlets, with Scoops Ice Cream and Joe's American Grill joining the park's food and drink offer.
  • A new outdoor entertainment and dining area with bar facilities and outdoor seating.

What Parkdean Resorts has said

Steve Richards, CEO at Parkdean Resorts, said: "We're committed to investing £5m in Skipsea Sands Holiday Park, upgrading our accommodation and further enhancing the holiday experience for guests and owners in East Yorkshire. From exciting new activities that include adventure golf and high ropes to an enhanced food and drink offering, there will be even more for families and holidaymakers to enjoy."

He added: "We look forward to welcoming guests to a new and improved Skipsea Sands from Easter 2027."

Parkdean Resorts also said the development is expected to create additional permanent and seasonal employment while supporting the local tourism economy. The company operates four holiday parks across Yorkshire (Barmston Beach, Cayton Bay, Skipsea Sands and Withernsea Sands), which together employ more than 480 people, and it recruited for more than 200 seasonal roles across the region during 2026.

If you own a caravan at Skipsea Sands

For owners, the headline is more to do on the doorstep, with new activities, places to eat and a sports bar due on the park from Easter 2027. It may be worth keeping an eye on updates from the park about timings, particularly if you usually visit early in the season.

As with any change on a park, owners may want to check their licence agreement for how pitch fees are reviewed, so they know what the agreement says. Our guides to how site fees affect selling a static caravan and selling a static caravan with a pitch licence explain the basics.

We have covered Parkdean Resorts a few times this autumn, including its Celebrity Weekenders for November 2026 (which include Cayton Bay) and its Grown-Up Getaways. You can also visit our Parkdean parks page or read our guide to selling a static caravan on a Parkdean Resorts park.
