Redford Caravan Park at Princes Gate, near Narberth, has won the Caravan Park Award at the 2026 Croeso Awards, and its owner says she did not realise straight away that the park had won.
The awards were presented at a ceremony at Pembrokeshire College on Thursday 29 October, The Pembrokeshire Herald reports. The Western Telegraph says the awards are organised by Visit Pembrokeshire, and that this year 150 entries were received across 17 categories, assessed anonymously by an independent panel of tourism experts from outside the county.
"Sarah, that's you!"
Owner Sarah Gateley told The Pembrokeshire Herald: "When they started announcing the winner, I was actually clapping because I thought someone else had won."
"It wasn't until someone turned around and said, 'Sarah, that's you!' that it really sank in!"
She added: "We are absolutely over the moon. To win this award is such an incredible achievement, and I think we're still a little bit in shock!"
Ms Gateley said the award recognised the work that goes into improving the park. "We put so much time, effort and passion into Redford, always looking at ways to improve the park and give our owners and visitors the best possible experience," she said. "To have that recognised in this way means so much to us."
Credit to the team, owners and visitors
Ms Gateley paid tribute to the staff, owners and visitors who support the business. "This award is not just about us. It's about our fantastic team, our wonderful owners and everyone who visits and supports Redford. They all play a part in making the park what it is," she said.
"We're incredibly proud to be part of Pembrokeshire's tourism industry and to receive this recognition alongside so many other fantastic local businesses."
About the park
Both papers report that Redford had been a finalist in the category in previous years. According to the Western Telegraph, the park offers static caravans, self-catering units and touring pitches, and its facilities include:
- heated indoor and outdoor pools
- children's play areas and a dog park
- a games room and a clubhouse
The Pembrokeshire Herald also lists a gym and a movie room. The Western Telegraph adds that the park holds a four-star Visit Wales grading, won the 2024 LUXlife Caravan Park of the Year West Wales title, and began offering horse-riding holidays earlier this year.
