Happy anniversary to Tregavone Farm Holiday Park. The first campers pitched up at the farm in St Merryn, near Padstow, back in 1971, and this autumn the family-run park is celebrating 55 years of holidays, according to CornishStuff.

A family affair since 1971

The park is run by Kelly Dennis and her husband Richard, alongside their children Mawgan and Archie, with other members of the wider family also working and helping across the site.

Over five and a half decades, Tregavone has grown from its early camping days into the holiday park visitors know today, with static caravan accommodation as part of the mix. The family says it has been determined to keep the relaxed, friendly atmosphere and sense of space that have been part of holidays at the farm for generations, and it describes Tregavone as a working family environment rather than a large commercial resort.

Generations of the same families

For the Dennis family, one of the most special parts of running the park has been watching the same families return, including people who holidayed there as children and now bring children of their own.

Kelly Dennis said: "We've been lucky enough to welcome generations of the same families back year after year, and that's probably the loveliest part of it all, seeing children who once holidayed here returning with children of their own."

She added: "We're hugely grateful to everyone who has stayed with us, supported us and become part of the Tregavone story over the last 55 years. Here's to many more!"

Tregavone Kitchen and Bar

The park's most recent addition is Tregavone Kitchen and Bar. CornishStuff reports that the Kitchen serves everything from breakfasts and coffees to pizzas, burgers and loaded fries, while the Bar has become a place for guests to meet, relax and spend an evening together, with live music, bingo and DJ nights part of the summer season.

It is open to local residents and non-residents too, and both the Kitchen and the Bar are available all year round for private events.

To mark the milestone, the park planned a 55th Anniversary End of Season Party, with past and present guests, friends and the local community all invited.

Here's to the next 55

The family's ambition for the years ahead is a simple one: to keep improving the park without losing the character, friendliness and family atmosphere it started with. Congratulations to everyone at Tregavone.
