ABI Horizon Static Caravan Guide: History, Specs, Value & Prices

Looking up an ABI Horizon value, a 2016 or 2017 Horizon, or how that name relates to the 2026 ABI New Horizon? The adverts do not describe one caravan. A compact 10 ft example and several 36 x 12 3-bed examples are on the market, and "New Horizon" is a separately advertised 2026 model. This guide keeps those apart and does not invent a trade price.

Nothing in the ABI material checked for this guide gives the Horizon a launch year or a final year. What exists is a set of dated adverts.

• 2014: one documented example. Park Holidays lists a 2014 ABI Horizon at Malvern View as 29 x 10, 2 bedrooms, sleeps 6, with central heating and a corner sofa. Treat this as one caravan, not as the standard 2014 size.
• 2016: Pentre Mawr advertises a pre-loved 2016 Horizon as 36 x 12, 3 bedrooms, sleeps 8, with double glazing and two toilets. Its fuller description has mentioned an L-shaped sofa with a pull-out bed, gas fire, galley kitchen, one double and two twin bedrooms, and blown-air heating. N Doe Caravans advertises another 2016 36 x 12, 3-bed Horizon off-site, double glazed.
• 2017: Caravans Direct advertises a 2017 36 x 12, 3-bed Horizon off-site, double glazed. A Park Holidays listing seen earlier in our research described a 2017 36 x 12, 3-bed Horizon at Steeple Bay as sleeping 8 with blown-air heating, but that page was not loading when rechecked in October 2026.
• 2018: Partingtons advertises a 2018 Horizon at Broadwater, near Fleetwood, as 36 x 12, 3 bedrooms, sleeps 6. The advert describes wraparound seating, an electric fire, a galley kitchen, a master ensuite and two twin bedrooms, a family bathroom with a full-sized shower, and a separate WC. That is this advert's description of this caravan, not a factory specification for every 2018 Horizon.

ABI New Horizon is the name to keep separate. Haven's 2026 page sells the ABI New Horizon 2026 as a pre-order model: 3 bedrooms, sleeps 6, from £29,995, with central heating and double glazing throughout, fixed L-shaped seating, a media unit with an electric fire, a galley kitchen, one double and two twin bedrooms, a main bathroom with shower, basin and WC, and an additional WC. Haven does not print the body size on that page. Other Haven-linked listings, such as a Primrose Valley order listing for a 2026 New Horizon, print 36 x 12. Use 36 x 12 for a New Horizon only where the listing or the caravan's paperwork confirms it.

We found no ABI material describing the New Horizon, so we could not establish whether it is a successor, a facelift or a separate design. Do not assume a 2016 Horizon and a 2026 New Horizon share a layout or specification.

ABI's homepage presents a 2026 and 2027 collection that does not name Horizon or New Horizon. That does not wipe out New Horizon stock already offered by parks, and it says nothing about parts or support. It does mean a 2014 or 2016 Horizon should not be described as a current ABI model.

How to identify an ABI Horizon

• Start with the paperwork, then check the caravan. Start with the manufacturer plate, serial/chassis information and any original paperwork, then confirm the model against the actual dimensions, layout and specification. Do not assume "New Horizon" will appear on an older plate, or that the word "New" is always printed in adverts.
• Two older footprints in the adverts. 29 x 10 with 2 bedrooms (the 2014 example) and 36 x 12 with 3 bedrooms (the 2016 to 2018 adverts). If a seller says "Horizon" and cannot give the width, measure it.
• 36 x 12 interior cues used in adverts. L-shaped or wraparound lounge seating, a galley kitchen, three bedrooms (one double or master and two twins), a shower room and a second WC. A master ensuite appears in the 2018 Partingtons wording and not in the 2016 descriptions checked.
• New Horizon cues from the 2026 Haven text. Open-plan living and dining, media unit with electric fire, galley kitchen, central heating and double glazing, additional WC. Do not use those 2026 lines to describe a 2016 caravan.
• No unique roof signature was established. A pitched roof is mentioned on some used adverts, which is not enough to identify the model.

Specs and typical layout

These are advert patterns, not an ABI data sheet. We did not find a factory Horizon brochure.

The 2014 29 x 10 example:

• 29 x 10
• 2 bedrooms, sleeps 6
• Central heating and corner sofa mentioned on the Park Holidays listing
• Open-plan living described in general terms only. Do not copy the 36 ft bedroom plan onto this body

36 x 12 adverts (2016 to 2018):

• 3 bedrooms: typically one double or master and two twins
• Sleeps 8 on the 2016 Pentre Mawr advert, sleeps 6 on the 2018 Partingtons advert
• Double glazing on the adverts checked
• Heating described differently: blown air and a gas fire on Pentre Mawr's 2016 description; on N Doe's 2016 listing the heating field says gas fire while the feature list says electric heating; an electric fire on the 2018 Partingtons advert. Do not collapse those into one system
• Galley kitchen on several write-ups
• Main shower room and a second WC on the 2016 and 2018 descriptions
• Ensuite language is not consistent. Check the caravan

2026 New Horizon (Haven page, plus Haven-linked listings that print a size):

• 3 bedrooms, sleeps 6 on Haven's page
• One double, two twins
• Central heating and double glazing throughout
• Galley kitchen, fixed L-shaped seating, electric fire
• Main bathroom and additional WC
• Body size 36 x 12 only where the listing states it

How much is an ABI Horizon worth?

The asking prices below show why a single "value" is misleading. Two 2016 36 x 12 3-bed Horizons checked in October 2026 are advertised at £24,995 sited on a park (Pentre Mawr) and £12,995 off-site at a dealer (N Doe Caravans). Same nominal model and year, very different headline, because one figure is a sited package and the other is a caravan for removal. Both are asking prices. Neither is a trade purchase price.

Individual valuation recommended. Values vary significantly by the 29 x 10 versus 36 x 12 body, by New Horizon versus older Horizon, by condition, and by pitch package.

What would Static Caravan Buyer actually pay for an ABI Horizon?

We quote the individual caravan. We need what the plate and paperwork say (Horizon or New Horizon), the year, exact size, bedroom count, damp, whether the second WC and the heating work, and the collection details. A 29 x 10 and a 36 x 12 are priced as different caravans.

The offer is cash for the caravan, with collection arranged. It is not the sited park price and not a private sale that includes the pitch.

• 2018, 36 x 12, 3 bed, sleeps 6: £28,090.02 sited park asking price at Broadwater (Partingtons), with annual site fees and utilities extra.
• 2026 New Horizon: Haven, new or pre-order, 3 bed, sleeps 6, from £29,995. A Primrose Valley order listing uses the same £29,995 and prints 36 x 12.

Retail asking price is not the same as a private sale value, and neither is the same as a trade purchase price.

• Trade / cash buyer: a price for the caravan itself, ready to collect. Often the practical route if the park will not transfer the pitch.
• Private sale: can beat trade for a clean 36 x 12 with a buyer who has somewhere to put it.
• Retail / park asking price: includes the pitch story. The 2014 package at £29,995 is a clear example. It should not be read as the value of a 29 x 10 caravan on its own.

What affects ABI Horizon value?

• Horizon versus New Horizon, and the year.
• 29 x 10 versus 36 x 12. This is the largest split in the adverts.
• 2-bed versus 3-bed. Count the bedrooms rather than relying on an advertised berth number.
• Second WC, and any ensuite that is actually there.
• Damp, heating that works (and what type it is), and double glazing.
• Kitchen appliances still fitted.
• Sited package versus removal. The 2016 pair (£24,995 sited versus £12,995 off-site, both asking prices) is the illustration.
• Access and distance, especially for a 12 ft body on a tight park.

Known features and quirks

• One name, at least two older sizes. Anyone quoting "a Horizon" without the feet and inches is guessing.
• Berth numbers move. Sleeps 6 and sleeps 8 both appear on 36 x 12 3-bed adverts. Count beds.
• Ensuite is not a settled feature. The 2018 Partingtons advert describes a master ensuite. The 2016 descriptions checked list a main shower room and a separate WC.
• New Horizon is a separately advertised 2026 model, with its own Haven specification and a sleeps-6 claim. Do not value a 2016 Horizon as if it were nearly new 2026 stock, and do not dismiss a 2026 New Horizon as a ten-year-old caravan.
• Heating descriptions conflict between gas fire, blown air and electric, sometimes within the same listing. Say what is actually fitted.
• Not on ABI's current collection page. That is a statement about the current range, not about parts or support.
