Last valuation guide update: October 2026

Introduction

The ABI Langdale is a 13ft-wide holiday home that ABI has updated year by year and still lists for 2027. This guide covers its history, how to identify it, its standard specification and how a Langdale is valued when you sell.

ABI began in 1972, when Ace Caravans and Belmont Caravans of Beverley merged as Ace Belmont International. After a period of US ownership, a management buyout in 2001 took ABI out of touring caravans to focus on holiday homes and lodges, and a further management buyout in 2020 bought out private equity investor CBPE. ABI is an independent manufacturer based in Beverley, East Yorkshire.

Model history

The Langdale was already in ABI's range before 2022, when Leisuredays reported it had been refreshed (2022 ex-works price £53,655 for the 40 x 13 two-bed). It has continued with colour-scheme updates each year, and ABI lists a 2027 model. We could not establish the first year.

How to identify an ABI Langdale

  • Start with the plate and paperwork. Check the manufacturer plate, serial or chassis number and any original paperwork, then confirm the model against the measured size, layout and specification.
  • 13ft wide with a full front sliding door.
  • Champagne aluminium cladding on current models.
  • 2-bed vs 3-bed: only the 2-bed has an en-suite shower and king-size bed.
  • Measure it yourself. Advert headlines often round sizes or misstate the width.

Specs and typical layout

This is a summary of the sources we used, not a full factory specification for every year.

  • Sizes: 40 x 13 (2 bed) and 41 x 13 (3 bed)
  • Champagne aluminium cladding, pre-galvanised twin-axle chassis
  • Low E argon double glazing and condensing boiler gas central heating
  • Wood-burner-style feature fire, full front sliding door, integrated fridge freezer
  • En-suite toilet on both; en-suite shower and king-size bed on the 2-bed model only; lift-up master bed on both
  • BS 3632 residential specification optional

How much is an ABI Langdale worth?

There is no single figure for an ABI Langdale. A cash offer depends on the individual caravan: its year, confirmed size and layout, specification, condition, and what collection involves. Model year, colour scheme generation, holiday or BS 3632 specification and options fitted all change the figure.

Individual valuation recommended.

What would SCB actually pay?

We do not publish a fixed trade-value band for this model because year, specification, condition and collection requirements can make too much difference. As a 13ft-wide unit, collection planning also matters.

What we pay for an ABI Langdale is a trade price for the caravan itself, removed from the pitch. It will be below park, dealer and private asking prices, because those include things a trade buyer does not get (a pitch, siting, site-fee packages, warranties and the seller's margin) and leave out costs a trade buyer carries (collection, transport, refurbishment and resale).

Online prices and price context

  • Manufacturer list price, 2027 (inc VAT, excluding options and plot fees): £71,583.84 (40 x 13 2 bed), £72,766.39 (41 x 13 3 bed)
  • Ex-works, 2022 model: £53,655 (Leisuredays; 40 x 13 2 bed)
  • Dealer 'from' price, 2026: £66,920.12 for the 2-bed and £68,033.71 for the 3-bed (Broughton Leisure; the same page also shows a headline 'from £77,687.37', so check which applies; VAT basis not stated)

ABI's list prices include VAT but exclude options and plot fees. A sited park price adds the pitch, siting, connections and margin.

Retail vs private vs trade: what the numbers mean

  • Manufacturer RRP or list price: what the maker quotes for a new caravan, usually before options, delivery, siting and pitch fees. Check whether VAT is included.
  • Ex-works price: the factory price for a new unit before delivery and siting; review sites quote it for the model year they tested.
  • Dealer retail asking price: a dealer's price for new or used stock. Off-site dealer prices usually exclude a pitch; dealer margin is built in.
  • Sited park asking price: what a park asks for a caravan already on a pitch. It often includes siting, connections, steps, decking and sometimes a period of site fees, plus the park's margin.
  • Private asking price: what an owner hopes to get, often with the caravan staying on its pitch, subject to park approval and any park commission.
  • Trade or cash buyer value: what a buyer such as SCB pays for the caravan itself, removed from the pitch and collected. It is lower than retail because the buyer pays for collection, transport, any refurbishment, a new pitch or resale, and takes on the risk.

An asking price is not a sale price, and neither is what a trade buyer pays. None of the figures in this guide is an SCB purchase price.

What affects ABI Langdale value?

  • Year and paperwork. The plate, serial number and any original paperwork confirm the model year and specification.
  • Confirmed size and layout. Measured length, width and bedroom count, not an advert headline.
  • Heating and glazing. Whether central heating and double glazing were fitted, and whether the heating works.
  • Condition. Damp, roof, floors, windows, cladding and chassis condition matter more than cosmetic finish.
  • Appliances and fittings. Whether they are present, safe and working.
  • Collection access. Ground conditions, access for the transport vehicle and the caravan's width all affect cost.
  • Pitch or no pitch. A trade buyer is buying the caravan, not the pitch, so pitch value and site-fee packages do not transfer.

Known features and quirks

  • Spec differs between the 2-bed and 3-bed: the en-suite shower and king-size bed are 2-bed only.
  • Colour schemes change most years, which helps date a Langdale.

FAQs

Is the ABI Langdale still made?

Yes. ABI lists a 2027 Langdale.

Do ABI's prices include VAT?

Yes. ABI states its 2027 list prices include VAT, excluding options and plot fees.

Does a BS 3632 residential specification change anything?

Ask for the certificate if it is claimed. Some residential-spec caravans are sited on holiday-only parks, so how the caravan is sited and used matters as well as how it was built.

Can I sell it and keep the pitch?

No. A trade buyer buys the caravan and removes it. Talk to your park about notice, any final site fees and what happens to the pitch.
