Last valuation guide update: October 2026
Introduction
Looking up an ABI Windermere value, a 2026 collection 40 x 13 residential-option example, or how an older 38 x 12 Windermere compares with recent stock? The name has been in ABI's portfolio for a long time, but sizes and specification have changed. This guide separates what is evidenced on recent manufacturer material from older reviews and park adverts, and treats the trade figure as an individual quote.
ABI Windermere quick guide
| Manufacturer | ABI, Beverley, East Yorkshire |
| Name history | Leisuredays' 2013 review called the Windermere one of ABI's most popular ranges "for many years". That is a contemporary review claim. We could not establish a first production year |
| 2013 review size | 38 x 12, 3-bedroom model reviewed; review also says two caravans in the range at that time, both 38 x 12 |
| 2026 collection sizes (2025 and 2026 material) | 40 x 12 and 40 x 13, each in 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom layouts |
| Residential spec | ABI's 2025 Windermere specs sheet lists BS 3632 residential specification as an option on 13 ft models only |
| Premier / Lodge wording | We did not find a factory Windermere Premier model in the sources checked. Some parks market a Windermere Lodge title on new 13 ft stock; the body text often still says ABI Windermere. Record what the paperwork says |
| Manufacturer RRP (2026 collection retail price list from 1 September 2025) | 40 x 12 2-bed: £55,595 ex VAT, £4,780.94 VAT, £60,375.94 inc VAT. 40 x 12 3-bed: £55,755 / £4,920.50 / £60,675.50. 40 x 13 2-bed: £56,660 / £4,845.10 / £61,505.10. 40 x 13 3-bed: £56,825 / £4,984.40 / £61,809.40. These are published manufacturer figures, not used values |
| Trade value | Individual valuation recommended. |
| Current status | The Windermere was in ABI's 2026 collection and on the 2026 retail price list (from 1 September 2025). It is not listed in ABI's 2027 collection online (checked October 2026). We have not seen an ABI statement on whether it has been withdrawn. |
Model history
Leisuredays reviewed the 2013 ABI Windermere 3-bed as part of a long-running range. That review describes two caravans in the range at the time, both 38 ft x 12 ft, and quotes an ex-works price of £32,251.44 including VAT for the reviewed model. That is a historical new price. Standard features called out include aluminium cladding, upgraded 50 mm insulated walls, electric fire, integrated fridge-freezer, separate ensuite toilet on that 3-bed layout, lift-up double bed in the main bedroom, and optional patio doors in the end wall of the lounge. Single glazing was standard; Thermaglas double glazing and winter packs were options. A pre-galvanised chassis was offered as an alternative to the standard painted chassis.
Later ABI material moves the footprint to 40 ft. ABI's 2025 Windermere specifications PDF shows four layouts:
- Windermere 40 x 12 2 bedroom
- Windermere 40 x 12 3 bedroom
- Windermere Residential 40 x 13 2 bedroom
- Windermere Residential 40 x 13 3 bedroom
Highlights on that sheet include an updated colour scheme for 2025, ensuite shower on the 40 x 12 / 40 x 13 2-bedroom models, free-standing domestic-style sofas, and a spacious kitchen with larder unit. Matt-finish champagne aluminium cladding is listed as included. King-size bed in the master bedroom is listed except on the 40 x 12 3-bed model. Separate second toilet is listed on 3-bedroom models only. Residential BS 3632 is listed as an add-on for 13 ft models only, along with options such as fully galvanised chassis, Low E Thermaglass double glazing, winter packs, integrated appliances and Bluetooth sound.
ABI's Retail Price List for the 2026 Collection from 1 September 2025 (a park-hosted copy) includes the four Windermere lines with the manufacturer RRP figures in the quick guide above. ABI's own note on that list says prices are a guide, can change, and should be confirmed with a dealership or park. Parks add transport, siting and their own margin.
2027 collection. The Windermere is not listed in ABI's 2027 collection online (checked October 2026). We have not seen an ABI statement on whether it has been withdrawn, so a 2026 collection Windermere is the most recent version we can document.
Premier: no factory Windermere Premier was found in the manufacturer sheets and price list checked.
Lodge: Away Resorts has marketed a 2025 A.B.I Windermere Lodge at Newperran as a new 40 x 13 (listed as 13 x 40 ft) 2-bedroom home at a sited asking price of £89,995. The property description still calls it the 2025 ABI Windermere. Treat "Lodge" here as park marketing language unless the manufacturer's paperwork for that unit says otherwise.
How to identify an ABI Windermere
- Start with the paperwork, then check the caravan. Start with the manufacturer plate, serial/chassis information and any original paperwork, then confirm the model against the actual dimensions, layout and specification. Do not assume the plate carries every marketing word (Residential, Lodge, winter pack).
- Width and length by era. In the sources checked: 38 x 12 in the 2013 review; 40 x 12 or 40 x 13 in the 2025 and 2026 collections. Measure yours.
- Ensuite pattern on 2025 and 2026 stock. 2-bedroom layouts: separate ensuite shower and toilet. 3-bedroom layouts: separate second toilet (not the same as the 2-bed ensuite package).
- Exterior on 2025 and 2026 stock. Matt champagne aluminium is the included cladding on the 2025 specs sheet. Door and glazing options vary.
- Residential claim. Only trust BS 3632 wording that matches the caravan's own paperwork, and remember ABI lists that option for 13 ft Windermeres in the 2025 sheet.

How much is an ABI Windermere worth?
Individual valuation recommended. We do not publish a fixed trade-value band for this model because year, specification, condition and collection requirements can make too much difference. A 2013 38 x 12 with single glazing as standard and a 2026 collection 40 x 13 with residential specification are different bodies with different options, so one range would mislead. Do not turn the 2026 list price or a 2013 ex-works figure into a used value: those are new prices, before transport, siting and park margin.
What would SCB actually pay?
The offer depends on the year, the exact size, whether paperwork supports residential or lodge marketing claims, damp, chassis type, what is still fitted, and how collection works.
Our offer for the caravan alone, with collection arranged by us, sits below a new list price and usually below a sited park asking price. It is not a best-case private sale either.
Online prices and price context
You will see different kinds of number, and they are not interchangeable:
- Historical new price (ex-works, from review): £32,251.44 inc VAT for the 2013 38 x 12 3-bed review model.
- Manufacturer RRP (2026 collection list from 1 September 2025): the four figures in the quick guide (about £60,376 to £61,809 inc VAT depending on size and bedrooms), quoting the published ex VAT, VAT and inc VAT columns. Confirm with a park or distributor; parks add their own costs.
- Sited park asking price (new stock example): £89,995 for a 2025 unit marketed as A.B.I Windermere Lodge, described in the body as a 2025 ABI Windermere, 40 x 13, 2 bedrooms, at Newperran (Away Resorts, checked October 2026). That package price is not a trade value for a used caravan alone.
Retail vs private vs trade: what the numbers mean
- Manufacturer RRP or ex-works price: what a new caravan cost from the factory or its price list in a given year. VAT treatment is not always stated, and siting, transport and connections are extra.
- Dealer or park retail asking price: what a seller hopes to get. A sited park price usually includes the pitch, siting, connections, sometimes decking and site fees, and the seller's margin. An off-site dealer price usually includes refurbishment, warranty and margin.
- Private asking price: often lower than retail, but the seller carries the risk, time and transport, and many parks restrict private sales on the pitch.
- Trade or cash buyer value: what a buyer such as Static Caravan Buyer pays for the caravan alone, collected from the pitch, with the buyer taking on transport, refurbishment and resale. It is lower than retail because those costs and risks move to the buyer.
An asking price is not a sale price, and none of the online figures in this guide is a trade value.
What affects ABI Windermere value?
- Generation and footprint: 38 x 12 versus 40 x 12 versus 40 x 13.
- 2-bed ensuite layout versus 3-bed second-toilet layout.
- Residential BS 3632 paperwork on 13 ft examples versus holiday spec.
- Galvanised chassis versus painted, where that was optional.
- Double glazing and winter packs actually fitted.
- Damp, roof, cladding condition and whether freestanding furniture is still present.
- Collection access. A 13 ft body is a different move from a 12 ft body.
- Pitch included or not.
Known features and quirks
- Long-running name, changing footprint. Popularity claims from 2013 do not freeze the size at 38 x 12.
- Lodge in park adverts is not automatically a separate factory range. Check the manufacturer's documents for that serial.
- No Premier found. If an advert says Windermere Premier, ask for paperwork; we could not evidence that factory name here.
- King-size exception. On the 2025 sheet, the 40 x 12 3-bed does not get the king-size master bed.
- List price shock. Owners of an older Windermere sometimes compare it with the 2026 RRP. New money is not second-hand money.
FAQs
What size is an ABI Windermere?
It depends on the generation. The 2013 review describes 38 x 12. The 2025 and 2026 collections show 40 x 12 and 40 x 13 in 2- and 3-bed layouts. Measure yours.
Can an ABI Windermere be residential specification?
ABI's 2025 Windermere specs sheet lists BS 3632 residential specification as an option on 13 ft models only. Confirm on the individual caravan's paperwork.
Is there an ABI Windermere Premier or Lodge?
We did not find a factory Premier Windermere. Some parks use a Windermere Lodge sales title for 13 ft package stock; check the manufacturer paperwork.
Is the ABI Windermere still made?
It was in ABI's 2026 collection and on the 2026 retail price list, but it is not listed in ABI's 2027 collection online (checked October 2026). We have not seen an ABI statement on whether it has been withdrawn.
How much is an ABI Windermere worth?
Individual valuation recommended. 2026 collection RRPs were about £60,400 to £61,800 inc VAT before park extras, and sited asking prices sit on a different basis again. Neither is a trade value.
Selling an ABI Windermere
If the park has written to you about age limits, or you would rather not wait for a buyer who also needs the pitch, a direct trade sale is often the simpler route.
We buy ABI Windermere holiday homes across the UK.
An early 38 x 12 and a 2026 collection 40 x 13 need different notes on the valuation. Send the details and we will price the caravan you actually have.
SCB process
- Call 0800 644 5000 or use the free offer form on our website.
- Tell us what the manufacturer plate and paperwork say: the year, size, bedrooms, heating and glazing, condition and where the caravan is sited. Photos help.
- Our team normally aims to contact you within 24 hours, and aims to make an offer within 48 hours of that contact. These are aims, not guarantees.
- If you accept, we arrange collection on a date that works for you and the park.
- Payment is made on collection day before the caravan is loaded.
There are no estate-agent fees and no commission.
