Last valuation guide update: October 2026
Introduction
The Carnaby Belvedere is a mid 2000s holiday caravan from Carnaby Caravans, which has built holiday homes near Bridlington, East Yorkshire, since 1976. Public evidence is limited: we could not locate a Carnaby brochure or a review, so this guide is based on dated examples we found on dealer and park adverts. It explains what those adverts show, how to check your caravan and why it needs an individual valuation.
Carnaby Belvedere quick guide

| Current status | Not a current Carnaby model |
| Documented sizes | 30 x 12, 32 x 12 and 35 x 12 in adverts |

| Heating and glazing | Varies: gas central heating, electric panel heating and single glazing all appear in adverts |

Model history
Dated examples we found are a 2004 32 x 12, a 2004 35 x 12, a 2004 30 x 12 on a park listing and two 2005 examples (30 x 12 and 35 x 12). Sizes seen are 30 x 12, 32 x 12 and 35 x 12. Most are two-bed, but at least one 35 x 12 was a three-bed sleeping eight, so check the layout rather than assuming.
A Bridlington Caravan Centre advert for a 2004 example describes 'mellow autumnal colours', bench dinette seating with two free-standing chairs and maple woodwork.
We could not locate a Carnaby brochure or review, so launch and end years, and the factory specification, are not established. Dealer adverts show what individual caravans had, not what every Belvedere had from the factory.
How to identify a Carnaby Belvedere
- Start with the plate and paperwork. The manufacturer plate, serial or chassis number and original paperwork are the most reliable way to confirm the model and year.
- Measure it yourself. Check the length and width with a tape rather than relying on an advert headline.
- Check the plate says Carnaby. Dealer adverts show 30, 32 and 35 ft lengths, all 12 ft wide.
- Look for maple-effect woodwork and a bench dinette with two free-standing chairs, as described on a 2004 example.
- Count the bedrooms: the 35 x 12 was advertised in both two-bed and three-bed forms.
- Check what heating and glazing are actually fitted, because adverts show gas central heating, electric panel heating and single glazing.
- An asking price is not a value. What a park or dealer is asking tells you little about what the caravan is worth to a trade buyer.
Specs and typical layout
This is a summary of the sources we found, not a full factory specification for every year.
- Sizes in adverts: 30 x 12, 32 x 12 and 35 x 12
- Bedrooms: usually 2; one 2004 35 x 12 advertised as a three-bed sleeping 8
- Interior (2004 dealer advert): bench dinette with two free-standing chairs, maple woodwork
- Heating and glazing: double glazing on most adverts; gas central heating on a 2005 35 x 12; electric panel heating on a 2004 35 x 12; one project caravan single glazed with electric heating
- Other features in adverts: semi en-suite, gas fire and underfloor insulation on a 2005 35 x 12 (West Lancs Caravans)
How much is a Carnaby Belvedere worth?
Individual valuation recommended. We do not publish a fixed trade-value band for the Belvedere because year, specification, condition and collection requirements can make too much difference. Dealer adverts show the same model name on caravans with gas central heating, with electric heating and with single glazing, and asking prices from a £500 project to about £6,000, so one range would mislead. Age matters most: a 2004 to 2005 caravan is past many parks' age limits, so the off-site market and the condition of heating and glazing drive value.
What would SCB actually pay?
Our offer is a trade price for the caravan itself, collected from where it stands. It is based on the year, confirmed size and layout, condition (damp, floors, roof and chassis), heating and glazing, and how straightforward collection will be, measured against what we can realistically resell it for. For a Belvedere of this age the main questions are condition, heating and glazing, and whether it has to come off its pitch.
A trade offer will normally be lower than the retail, park and private asking prices below. Those prices often include a pitch, siting, connections, decking, site fees or a dealer margin, and the seller has time to wait for the right buyer. A trade buyer pays for the caravan alone, arranges collection and takes on the cost and risk of resale. Individual valuation recommended: send us the plate details and some photos and we will give you a figure for your caravan.
Online prices and price context
- Off-site dealer asking: £5,250 for a 2005 35 x 12 two-bed, double glazed with central heating (West Lancs Caravans)
- Off-site dealer asking: £5,995 for a 2005 30 x 12 two-bed, double glazed (Bridlington Caravan Centre)
- Project caravan asking (undated advert): £500 for a 35 x 12, single glazed with electric heating, sold as seen (Lincolnshire Statics)
These are dealer adverts for caravans off a pitch, so no pitch or site fees are included, but they do include the dealer's margin. We did not find a dated park asking price we could rely on. These are list, dealer, park or private asking prices; we give the year where the source states one. None of them is a trade or cash buyer price, and none should be read as what a trade buyer would pay.
Retail vs private vs trade: what the numbers mean
- Manufacturer list price (RRP) and ex-works price: what a new caravan costs from the maker or its dealers. Ex-works usually excludes delivery and siting. Some sources state whether VAT is included and some do not; where a source does not say, we say so, and those figures should not be compared directly with prices that include VAT.
- Dealer retail asking (off-site): a dealer's price for a caravan not on a pitch. It includes the dealer's margin and often preparation or a warranty, and delivery and siting are usually extra.
- Sited park asking: a price for a caravan on a park pitch. It often includes the pitch, siting, connections, sometimes decking and part of the site fees, and the park's margin.
- Private asking: what an owner hopes to get. It can be higher than trade but may take a long time, and buyers often need the park's approval and a pitch.
- Trade or cash buyer value: what a trade buyer pays for the caravan alone, collected. It is the lowest of these figures because the buyer takes on collection, any refurbishment and the resale risk, but it is usually the quickest and simplest exit.
What affects Carnaby Belvedere value?
- Age and park age limits: most examples are now over 20 years old.
- Heating and glazing: gas central heating and double glazing versus electric heating or single glazing.
- Size and bedrooms: 30, 32 or 35 ft, two or three bedrooms.
- Pitch or no pitch: whether it must be moved off site.
- Condition: damp, soft floors, roof, windows and chassis condition matter more than the model name.
- Appliances and fittings: present, safe and working.
- Collection access: how easy it is to get a vehicle to the caravan and move it off the pitch.
Known features and quirks
- Heating varies: we found examples with gas central heating, with electric panel heating, and a single-glazed project caravan. A semi en-suite and gas fire are mentioned on a 2005 35 x 12.
- The 35 x 12 appears in both two-bed and three-bed forms.
- One dealer web address calls a Carnaby Belvedere an 'Atlas Belvedere'; we found no evidence of an Atlas Belvedere static caravan.
FAQs
When was the Carnaby Belvedere made?
The dated examples we found are from 2004 and 2005. We could not locate a Carnaby brochure, so we cannot give launch or end years.
Is my Belvedere a two-bed or three-bed?
Most adverts show two bedrooms, but a 2004 35 x 12 was advertised as a three-bed sleeping eight. Count the bedrooms rather than going by the name.
Is there an Atlas Belvedere?
We found no evidence of one. One dealer web address uses 'atlas-belvedere' for a caravan titled Carnaby Belvedere, which looks like a labelling error. Check your plate.
Will you buy my Carnaby Belvedere if it is old or needs work?
We look at caravans of all ages and conditions. Age and condition change the offer, so send us the plate details and photos and we will value it individually.
