Introduction
Want to know what a Carnaby Chantry Lodge is worth, or how to tell whether your caravan really is one? This guide covers the model's history from its 2020 launch, how to identify the different years, and why the prices you see online are not what a trade buyer pays.

Model history
Carnaby launched the Chantry as a new model for 2020, a 41ft x 13ft lodge-style single unit at the top of its range at the time. Leisuredays reviewed the two-bedroom 2020 model, which had front French doors and listed central heating, an Ultra Warm Plus insulation upgrade and a residential (BS 3632) specification as options.
Carnaby relaunched the Chantry Lodge for 2025 with double sliding patio doors, and in October 2026 it was still on Carnaby's website in three 41 x 13 layouts: two bedrooms with a bath option, two bedrooms with shower, and three bedrooms. We have not confirmed in which year the three-bedroom layout was added.
How to identify a Carnaby Chantry Lodge
- Start with the plate and paperwork. Check the manufacturer plate, serial or chassis number and any original paperwork, then confirm the model against the measured size, layout and specification.
- Front doors. 2020 models were reviewed with French doors; 2025-on models have double sliding patio doors.
- 13ft wide, 41ft long. If yours is 12ft wide it is not a Chantry Lodge.
- Kitchen. Current two-bedroom models have a range cooker with five-burner hob; the three-bedroom model has a fan oven and five-burner hob.
- Measure it yourself. Advert headlines often round sizes or misstate the width.
Specs and typical layout
This is a summary of the sources we used, not a full factory specification for every year.
- Size: 41ft x 13ft
- Bedrooms: 2 or 3 on the current range, sleeps 4 to 6
- Current layouts (October 2026): 2 bed with bath option, 2 bed with shower, 3 bed
- 2020 model: galvanised chassis, built to EN 1647 holiday standard; central heating, Ultra Warm Plus and BS 3632 optional (Leisuredays)
- 2026 models (park listing): Ultra Warm package with A-rated boiler, uPVC double glazing, central heating and uprated insulation; range cooker in the 2-bed; TV wall with space for a 65in TV and flame-effect fire
- Open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area
How much is a Carnaby Chantry Lodge worth?
There is no single figure for a Carnaby Chantry Lodge. A cash offer depends on the individual caravan: its year, confirmed size and layout, specification, condition, and what collection involves. A 2020 model without central heating and a 2026 model with the Ultra Warm package are very different caravans, so one range would mislead.
Individual valuation recommended.
What would SCB actually pay?
We do not publish a fixed trade-value band for this model because year, specification, condition and collection requirements can make too much difference. As a 13ft-wide unit, collection planning also matters.
What we pay for a Carnaby Chantry Lodge is a trade price for the caravan itself, removed from the pitch. It will be below park, dealer and private asking prices, because those include things a trade buyer does not get (a pitch, siting, site-fee packages, warranties and the seller's margin) and leave out costs a trade buyer carries (collection, transport, refurbishment and resale).
Online prices and price context
- Manufacturer ex-works price, 2020 model: £54,086 (Leisuredays launch review, 2020)
- Park asking price, 2026 model: £115,995 for a 41 x 13 two-bedroom at Coneygarth Lakes and Lodges (October 2026). The listing says the price includes standard decking, full siting at Coneygarth or Dacre Lakeside Park, initial connection costs, a balance-of-season park fee credit and BS 3632 residential specification; VAT basis not stated. It is a sited park package, not a caravan-only value
- Sited private or park sale, 2020: a 2020 Chantry was advertised sited in Flintshire for £67,000 (classified note in the Leisuredays review)
A new sited price includes much more than the caravan: delivery, siting, connections, often decking, and the park's margin. VAT treatment also differs between new and used, and between residential and holiday specification, so check what any quoted price includes.
Retail vs private vs trade: what the numbers mean
- Manufacturer RRP or list price: what the maker quotes for a new caravan, usually before options, delivery, siting and pitch fees. Check whether VAT is included.
- Ex-works price: the factory price for a new unit before delivery and siting; review sites quote it for the model year they tested.
- Dealer retail asking price: a dealer's price for new or used stock. Off-site dealer prices usually exclude a pitch; dealer margin is built in.
- Sited park asking price: what a park asks for a caravan already on a pitch. It often includes siting, connections, steps, decking and sometimes a period of site fees, plus the park's margin.
- Private asking price: what an owner hopes to get, often with the caravan staying on its pitch, subject to park approval and any park commission.
- Trade or cash buyer value: what a buyer such as SCB pays for the caravan itself, removed from the pitch and collected. It is lower than retail because the buyer pays for collection, transport, any refurbishment, a new pitch or resale, and takes on the risk.
An asking price is not a sale price, and neither is what a trade buyer pays. None of the figures in this guide is an SCB purchase price.
What affects Carnaby Chantry Lodge value?
- Year and paperwork. The plate, serial number and any original paperwork confirm the model year and specification.
- Confirmed size and layout. Measured length, width and bedroom count, not an advert headline.
- Heating and glazing. Whether central heating and double glazing were fitted, and whether the heating works.
- Condition. Damp, roof, floors, windows, cladding and chassis condition matter more than cosmetic finish.
- Appliances and fittings. Whether they are present, safe and working.
- Collection access. Ground conditions, access for the transport vehicle and the caravan's width all affect cost.
- Pitch or no pitch. A trade buyer is buying the caravan, not the pitch, so pitch value and site-fee packages do not transfer.
Known features and quirks
- Central heating was optional on early (2020) examples; do not assume it.
- Residential BS 3632 specification was an option; ask for the certificate if it is claimed.
- Not to be confused with Park Holidays' Chantry holiday park in Yorkshire.
FAQs
When was the Carnaby Chantry Lodge launched?
It was new for 2020 and was relaunched for 2025 with double sliding patio doors.
Is the Chantry Lodge still made?
Carnaby listed it on its website in October 2026 in three 41 x 13 layouts.
Does every Chantry Lodge have central heating?
No. It was an option on the 2020 model. 2026 models include it in the Ultra Warm package.
Can I sell it and keep the pitch?
No. A trade buyer buys the caravan and removes it. Talk to your park about notice, any final site fees and what happens to the pitch.
