Introduction

The Delta Santana is a value holiday caravan from Delta Caravans International, which has built static caravans in Hull since 1983. It comes in 10 ft and 12 ft widths with two or three bedrooms, and its heating can be gas central heating or electric panel heaters. Model history

Delta Caravans International, established in Hull in 1983, describes the Santana as its value model for first-time buyers, in two- and three-bedroom layouts with a vaulted ceiling and wraparound lounge seating. The dated examples we found run from 2012 to 2020, and UK Caravan Centre still lists new Santanas in 10 ft and 12 ft widths. We could not establish the launch year.

How to identify a Delta Santana

  • Start with the plate and paperwork. The manufacturer plate, serial or chassis number and original paperwork are the most reliable way to confirm the model and year.
  • Measure it yourself. Check the length and width with a tape rather than relying on an advert headline.
  • Check the width first: 10 ft and 12 ft versions exist in 28, 30, 32 and 35 ft lengths, and a 35 x 10 and a 35 x 12 differ a lot in value.
  • Look for the vaulted ceiling, wraparound lounge seating with storage and a separate dinette.
  • Check whether it has gas central heating or electric panel heaters.
  • Look at the chassis: it is painted unless the galvanised option was chosen.
  • An asking price is not a value. What a park or dealer is asking tells you little about what the caravan is worth to a trade buyer.

Specs and typical layout

This is a summary of the sources we found, not a full factory specification for every year.

  • Sizes: 28 x 10, 30 x 10, 32 x 10, 35 x 10 (two- or three-bed) and 35 x 12 (two- or three-bed)
  • Bedrooms: 2 or 3
  • Standard (Delta): double glazing, vaulted ceiling, electric fire, wraparound lounge seating, dinette, gas cooker with grill, space for microwave and fridge-freezer, steel pantile roof
  • Heating: gas central heating or electric panel heaters
  • Chassis: fully galvanised chassis optional

How much is a Delta Santana worth?

Individual valuation recommended. We do not publish a fixed trade-value band for the Santana because year, specification, condition and collection requirements can make too much difference. One range would mislead because the name covers 10 ft and 12 ft widths, two- and three-bed layouts, gas or electric heating and painted or galvanised chassis, on examples from at least 2012 to 2020.

What would SCB actually pay?

Our offer is a trade price for the caravan itself, collected from where it stands. It is based on the year, confirmed size and layout, condition (damp, floors, roof and chassis), heating and glazing, and how straightforward collection will be, measured against what we can realistically resell it for. On a Santana the width, heating type and chassis condition are the main things we check.

A trade offer will normally be lower than the retail, park and private asking prices below. Those prices often include a pitch, siting, connections, decking, site fees or a dealer margin, and the seller has time to wait for the right buyer. A trade buyer pays for the caravan alone, arranges collection and takes on the cost and risk of resale. Individual valuation recommended: send us the plate details and some photos and we will give you a figure for your caravan.

Online prices and price context

  • New dealer price (VAT basis not stated): from £26,995 (28 x 10 two-bed) to £35,995 (35 x 12 three-bed), UK Caravan Centre, off-site, checked October 2026
  • Sited park asking: £19,995 (reduced from £24,995) for a 2012 28 x 10 two-bed at Suffolk Sands (Park Holidays)
  • Sited park asking: £19,995 for a 2020 35 x 12 three-bed at Greenacres, Gronant

UK Caravan Centre does not say whether its new prices include VAT, and they exclude siting. The park prices include a pitch and the park's margin. These are list, dealer, park or private asking prices; we give the year where the source states one. None of them is a trade or cash buyer price, and none should be read as what a trade buyer would pay.

Retail vs private vs trade: what the numbers mean

  • Manufacturer list price (RRP) and ex-works price: what a new caravan costs from the maker or its dealers. Ex-works usually excludes delivery and siting. Some sources state whether VAT is included and some do not; where a source does not say, we say so, and those figures should not be compared directly with prices that include VAT.
  • Dealer retail asking (off-site): a dealer's price for a caravan not on a pitch. It includes the dealer's margin and often preparation or a warranty, and delivery and siting are usually extra.
  • Sited park asking: a price for a caravan on a park pitch. It often includes the pitch, siting, connections, sometimes decking and part of the site fees, and the park's margin.
  • Private asking: what an owner hopes to get. It can be higher than trade but may take a long time, and buyers often need the park's approval and a pitch.
  • Trade or cash buyer value: what a trade buyer pays for the caravan alone, collected. It is the lowest of these figures because the buyer takes on collection, any refurbishment and the resale risk, but it is usually the quickest and simplest exit.

What affects Delta Santana value?

  • Width: 10 ft or 12 ft.
  • Heating: gas central heating usually appeals to more buyers than electric panel heaters.
  • Chassis: painted or galvanised, especially on coastal caravans.
  • Year and bedrooms.
  • Pitch or no pitch.
  • Condition: damp, soft floors, roof, windows and chassis condition matter more than the model name.
  • Appliances and fittings: present, safe and working.
  • Collection access: how easy it is to get a vehicle to the caravan and move it off the pitch.

Known features and quirks

  • Mostly 10 ft wide in adverts, aimed at first-time buyers.
  • Heating is gas central heating or electric panel heaters, so an electric-only Santana is not unusual.
  • The galvanised chassis was an option, so many Santanas have a painted chassis.
