Last valuation guide update: October 2026

Introduction

Looking up a Swift Moselle value, a Moselle Lodge, or whether a used Moselle is the holiday-home or residential-spec lodge version? The Moselle name covers both product lines, and the sizes, build standard and heating story are not the same. This guide keeps Moselle holiday home and Moselle Lodge separate, sticks to dated reviews and factory brochures, and treats the trade figure as an individual quote.

Swift Moselle quick guide

Manufacturer Swift Holiday Homes (Swift Group)
Two product lines Moselle holiday home (EN 1647 family holiday home) and Moselle Lodge (BS 3632 residential-spec lodge). Do not price or identify them as one product
How old is the name? Documented in a contemporaneous holiday-home review by 2010. Exact first production year not established from Swift pages checked
Holiday-home sizes (2024 brochure) 35 x 12 2-bed; 38 x 12 2-bed; 40 x 12 3-bed
Earlier holiday-home sizes 2010 review range: four 2-bed and one 3-bed from 30 x 12 up to 38 x 12. 2022 review: 35 x 12 2-bed, 38 x 12 2-bed, 40 x 12 3-bed
Moselle Lodge sizes (2024 lodge brochure) 40 x 13 2-bed; 42 x 14 2-bed; 42 x 14 3-bed. Built to BS 3632:2015 in that brochure
Earlier lodge example 2014 Leisuredays lodge review: 38 x 12 2-bed with bath, described as residential specification (the review prints BS 3636; treat the year and paperwork on the caravan as authoritative)
Trade value Individual valuation recommended.
Current status Not listed in Swift's 2026 holiday-homes brochure or the combined 2027 holiday home and lodge brochure (checked October 2026). Not listed in Swift's 2026 lodge brochure either. No Swift page found for this research that names a replacement model

Model history

Holiday home: early documented run. Leisuredays' May 2010 review described the Moselle as one of five Swift holiday-home models then, with sizes from 30 x 12 to 38 x 12. The review model was a 38 x 12 2-bed. Painted chassis was standard; a fully galvanised chassis was optional. Double glazing and central heating were options. Ex-works was not printed clearly enough in that review page to treat as a firm figure here.

Lodge line alongside. Leisuredays' November 2013 review of the 2014 Moselle Holiday Lodge treated the lodge as a long-running Swift lodge name. The review model was 38 x 12 2-bed with a bath in the ensuite, CanExel cladding as standard, Thermaglas double glazing, condensing gas combi central heating and a galvanised Fusion chassis. Ex-works in that review: £33,705 including VAT. That is a historical new price for the lodge, not a used trade value and not a holiday-home price.

2022 refresh (holiday home and lodge). Swift's own news (published 21 April 2022, page last updated 12 October 2023) describes the Moselle holiday home with a customisable front lounge and two interior schemes (Country Cottage and Scandinavian), in three layouts from 35 to 40 ft, sleeping four to six with an optional sofa bed. The same article describes the Moselle Lodge with combi-boiler central heating, BS 3632 residential specification and three layouts covering two and three bedrooms. Leisuredays' May 2022 holiday-home review of a 38 x 12 2-bed quoted ex-works £53,437 as reviewed, with other holiday-home sizes listed as 35 x 12 2-bed and 40 x 12 3-bed. A sited classified spotted then in south-west Scotland was £73,000. Those are historical new and asking figures.

2024 brochures. Swift's 2024 holiday-homes brochure lists Moselle at 35 x 12 2-bed, 38 x 12 2-bed and 40 x 12 3-bed, with Fusion galvanised chassis, Sandy Beige woodgrain aluminium cladding, bonded walls and the customisable lounge / two-scheme interior story. Swift's 2024 lodge brochure lists Moselle Lodge at 40 x 13 2-bed, 42 x 14 2-bed and 42 x 14 3-bed, with residential specification enhanced to BS 3632:2015 and Protech galvanised chassis.

Current absence. Moselle does not appear in Swift's 2026 holiday-homes brochure, the 2026 lodge brochure, or the combined 2027 holiday home and lodge brochure (all checked October 2026). Absence from those brochures is not a dated last-production notice, and it does not by itself name a successor. Do not invent an end year or a replacement badge from brochure absence alone.

Do not confuse with Loire, Bordeaux, Burgundy or Morlaix. Those are separate Swift names. A Moselle Lodge is not identified by copying a Morlaix or Vendee lodge page.

How to identify a Swift Moselle

  • Start with the paperwork, then check the caravan. Start with the manufacturer plate, serial/chassis information and any original paperwork, then confirm holiday home versus Lodge, the year, exact size and specification. Plates may not carry every marketing word.
  • Holiday home versus Lodge is the first split. Lodge paperwork should point to BS 3632 residential specification and, on the later brochure set, the wider 40 x 13 or 42 x 14 footprints. A 12 ft Moselle from the 2022 to 2024 holiday-home set is not a Lodge just because someone wrote "lodge" in an advert title.
  • Width and length by line. Holiday-home cluster in the clearer recent sources: 35 x 12, 38 x 12, 40 x 12. Lodge cluster in the 2024 lodge brochure: 40 x 13, 42 x 14. Earlier lodge stock includes the 2014 review's 38 x 12. Measure yours.
  • Customisable front lounge. Swift's 2022 news and the 2024 brochures emphasise a freestanding sofa and TV points on both sides so the lounge can face the best view. That helps on later Moselles; it does not prove the year alone.
  • Interior scheme. Country Cottage or Scandinavian soft-furnishing schemes appear in the 2022 to 2024 material. Either can be present; record what you have.
  • Ensuite. Later holiday-home write-ups and dealer stock describe an ensuite shower on the reviewed 38 x 12. The 2014 lodge review model had a bath with an over-bath shower. Do not assume a bath on every Moselle.

Specs and typical layout

Moselle holiday home (2024 brochure highlights and 2022 review notes):

  • Layouts in the 2024 brochure: 35 x 12 2-bed, 38 x 12 2-bed, 40 x 12 3-bed
  • Fusion / fully galvanised chassis with finish warrantied for ten years on Swift's brochure wording
  • Bonded sandwich exterior walls; coated steel pantile roof; Sandy Beige woodgrain aluminium cladding in the 2024 brochure
  • Customisable front lounge; choice of Scandinavian or Country Cottage interior schemes
  • Open-plan dining with table, fixed seating and stools on the brochure feature list
  • USB sockets; cloak area on brochure feature lists
  • 2022 review extras (optional on that review model, not a universal base list): patio doors, Thermaglas anthracite double glazing, freestanding sofa with pull-out bed, wireless programmable gas central heating, condensing gas combi boiler, dishwasher, Bluetooth audio

Moselle Lodge (2024 lodge brochure):

  • 40 x 13 2-bed; 42 x 14 2-bed; 42 x 14 3-bed
  • Residential specification enhanced to BS 3632:2015 in that brochure; combi-boiler central heating in Swift's lodge marketing copy
  • Protech galvanised chassis with finish warrantied for 10 years on the brochure wording
  • Same Country Cottage / Scandinavian scheme language as the holiday home in that generation's marketing
  • Bath called out among lodge feature icons in the 2024 lodge brochure set for Moselle; confirm on the individual floorplan and the caravan

2010 holiday-home review notes (38 x 12 2-bed): painted chassis standard; galvanised optional; DG and CH optional; ensuite toilet to the main bedroom; integrated fridge/freezer as standard in that review.

2014 lodge review notes (38 x 12 2-bed): CanExel cladding standard; patio doors standard in the lounge end wall; bath ensuite; Lux pack options included dishwasher, washing machine and Velux. Ex-works £33,705 inc VAT in the review.

If your caravan sits outside these clusters, describe it from the plate and a tape measure rather than forcing a brochure year onto it.

How much is a Swift Moselle worth?

New brochure language, historical ex-works figures and sited park packages are easy to mix up. None of them is a cash offer for a used Moselle with the pitch left behind.

Individual valuation recommended. We do not publish a fixed trade-value band for this model because year, specification, condition and collection requirements can make too much difference. A 2010 12 ft holiday home with a painted chassis and a 2024 42 x 14 BS 3632 Moselle Lodge share a name but not a market, so one range would mislead.

What would SCB actually pay?

We quote the individual caravan: holiday home or Lodge, year, exact size, damp, heating and glazing actually fitted, and collection. A tired 35 x 12 holiday home is not priced as a loaded 42 x 14 Lodge package.

The figure is for the caravan alone, with collection arranged by us. It is not a showground retail price and not a site-fees-included park package.

Online prices and price context

Bases differ, so each type is labelled. VAT treatment of asking prices is not stated.

  • Historical new price (ex-works, from reviews): £33,705 inc VAT for the 2014 Moselle Lodge review model; £53,437 for the 2022 holiday-home review model as reviewed.
  • Historical sited asking (review-era classified): £73,000 for a 2022 Moselle holiday home spotted sited in south-west Scotland in the Leisuredays write-up.
  • Dealer stock without a retained asking price: Bridlington Caravan Centre listed a 2024 Moselle 38 x 12 2-bed (double glazing, front doors, central heating) as sold. Sold listings without a retained asking price are identification evidence, not a price guide.

Retail vs private vs trade: what the numbers mean

  • Manufacturer RRP or ex-works price: what a new caravan cost from the factory or its price list in a given year. VAT treatment is not always stated, and siting, transport and connections are extra.
  • Dealer or park retail asking price: what a seller hopes to get. A sited park price usually includes the pitch, siting, connections, sometimes decking and site fees, and the seller's margin. An off-site dealer price usually includes refurbishment, warranty and margin.
  • Private asking price: often lower than retail, but the seller carries the risk, time and transport, and many parks restrict private sales on the pitch.
  • Trade or cash buyer value: what a buyer such as Static Caravan Buyer pays for the caravan alone, collected from the pitch, with the buyer taking on transport, refurbishment and resale. It is lower than retail because those costs and risks move to the buyer.

An asking price is not a sale price, and none of the online figures in this guide is a trade value.

What affects Swift Moselle value?

  • Holiday home versus Lodge, and whether BS 3632 residential specification is actually evidenced on the paperwork.
  • Confirmed size: 35 x 12, 38 x 12, 40 x 12, 40 x 13 and 42 x 14 are different stock.
  • Year and generation (pre-2022 versus the customisable-lounge refresh).
  • Damp, roof and window seals.
  • Heating and double glazing actually fitted (optional on earlier holiday homes; expected on Lodge marketing copy).
  • Chassis: painted versus fully galvanised / Fusion / Protech wording on the paperwork.
  • Interior scheme, freestanding lounge pieces still present, and whether patio or Outlook-style doors were fitted.
  • Collection access. A 14 ft Lodge is a different move from a 12 ft holiday home.
  • Pitch included or not.

Known features and quirks

  • Same name, two products. Moselle holiday home and Moselle Lodge share styling language in the 2022 to 2024 material. They do not share the same width set or build standard. Advert titles that say "Moselle Lodge" on a 12 ft EN 1647 caravan need the plate checked.
  • Customisable lounge is a later Moselle talking point. Earlier 2010 stock will not match that description.
  • Bath versus shower. The 2014 lodge review model had a bath. Later holiday-home reviews describe shower ensuites. Confirm on the caravan.
  • Not on current Swift brochures. Buyers comparing a used Moselle with a live Loire, Bordeaux or Morlaix are looking at different products and different price worlds.
  • Do not use touring or other Swift badges. Moselle is not Loire, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Provence or Royan.

FAQs

Is a Swift Moselle the same as a Moselle Lodge?

No. The holiday home and the Lodge are separate Swift product lines. Lodge material in the sources checked is residential-spec BS 3632 with different size sets in the later brochures. Confirm which you have from the plate and paperwork.

What size is a Swift Moselle?

It depends on the line and year. Documented holiday-home sizes in the clearer recent sources are 35 x 12, 38 x 12 and 40 x 12. Documented Moselle Lodge sizes in the 2024 lodge brochure are 40 x 13 and 42 x 14. Earlier examples include a 2010 holiday-home range from 30 x 12 and a 2014 lodge review at 38 x 12. Measure yours.

Is the Swift Moselle still made?

It is not listed in Swift's 2026 holiday-homes brochure, 2026 lodge brochure or combined 2027 holiday home and lodge brochure (checked October 2026). We could not establish a dated last-production year or a named replacement from a Swift announcement in the sources checked.

How much is a Swift Moselle worth?

Individual valuation recommended. Holiday home versus Lodge changes the quote, and the asking and historical figures in this guide are not trade values.

Selling a Swift Moselle

If the park has written to you about age limits, or you would rather not wait for a buyer who also needs the pitch, a direct trade sale is often the simpler route.

We buy Swift Moselle holiday homes and Moselle Lodges across the UK.

A 12 ft holiday home and a 14 ft Lodge need different notes on the valuation. Send the details and we will price the caravan you actually have.

SCB process

  1. Call 0800 644 5000 or use the free offer form on our website.
  2. Tell us what the manufacturer plate and paperwork say: the year, size, bedrooms, heating and glazing, condition and where the caravan is sited. Photos help.
  3. Our team normally aims to contact you within 24 hours, and aims to make an offer within 48 hours of that contact. These are aims, not guarantees.
  4. If you accept, we arrange collection on a date that works for you and the park.
  5. Payment is made on collection day before the caravan is loaded.
