Looking up a Willerby Herald value, a Herald Gold, or what a compact 10 ft Willerby static caravan is worth once the pitch is taken out of the advert? Public evidence for this name is thinner than for Willerby's flagship models. This guide sticks to what dated listings and directories actually show, how to identify the caravan, and why a cash offer has to be individual.

Willerby Herald quick guide

Manufacturer Willerby
Naming Used listings show both Herald and Herald Gold. Do not infer a universal specification difference from the suffix alone
Best-documented years 2007 to 2010 in the listings we could check. We could not establish a launch year
Documented sizes 28 x 10, 30 x 10 and 35 x 10 ft in dated listings and one directory entry
Bedrooms in those listings 2 on the 28 x 10 and 30 x 10 Gold examples; 3 on the 35 x 10 examples (advertised as sleeping 6)
12 ft Herald We did not find a reliable dated example. That does not prove none exists. Measure the caravan
Heating and glazing Double glazing and electric heating appear on some 2009 to 2010 Gold listings. Not evidenced as universal
Valuation approach Individual valuation recommended. Values vary significantly by year, confirmed size, condition, location and whether a pitch is included.
Current status Not on Willerby's price list effective June 2026, and not on Willerby's legacy and limited edition pages (checked October 2026). No replacement model confirmed

Model history

The Herald name turns up often enough on the used market that people assume one long-running mid-range family caravan, usually pictured as a 12 ft holiday home of 35 to 40 ft. That picture is not what the clearer public listings show.

What is documented is a run of compact 10 ft Willerby Herald and Herald Gold holiday homes from the late 2000s:

  • Bridlington Caravan Centre listed a 2009 Herald Gold as 28 x 10, 2 bedrooms, with double glazing and electric heating. The listing is marked sold.
  • N Doe Caravans advertises a 2009 Herald Gold as 30 x 10, 2 bedrooms, 6 berth, double glazed and all-electric.
  • Keat Farm advertises a 2010 Herald Gold as 30 x 10, 2 bedrooms, sited at its Little Satmar park.
  • North Wales Caravans advertises a 2010 Herald (titled Herald, not Herald Gold) as 35 x 10, 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6.
  • A Go Caravanning directory page lists a 2007 Willerby Herald as 35 x 10, 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6. That site warns its data can be incomplete, so treat it as a prompt to check the caravan, not as a factory sheet.

These are individual caravans, not a factory range list. They show that 10 ft Heralds in these sizes exist. They do not prove that every Herald was 10 ft wide, or that these were the only sizes.

No Willerby page found for this research gives a first year, a last year, or a model that "replaced" the Herald. Willerby's price list effective June 2026 does not include a Herald, and neither do the four pages of its legacy and limited edition models (which list names such as Ashurst, Malton MK2, Linwood, Ellerton Extra, Sierra, Castleton and Waverley). Being absent from those pages is not proof of when production ended. It only means the Herald is not a current Willerby model.

There is also a separate, older Herald touring caravan family (Clarion, Emblem and similar). That is not this static caravan. Do not mix touring data sheets with a Willerby holiday home.

How to identify a Willerby Herald

  • Start with the paperwork, then check the caravan. Start with the manufacturer plate, serial/chassis information and any original paperwork, then confirm the model against the actual dimensions, layout and specification. Plates and old paperwork vary, and advert titles sometimes drop or add "Gold" loosely.
  • Willerby can sometimes help with the age. Willerby's help centre says it holds historic records and may be able to find a home's age from the serial number, although it cannot guarantee records for every home it has built.
  • Measure the width. The dated listings cluster at 10 ft wide, in lengths around 28, 30 and 35 ft. If your caravan measures 12 ft wide, do not assume it is a Herald from the name in an old advert. Check the plate and paperwork.
  • Layout cue on the compact 2-bed listings. Open-plan lounge, a practical kitchen, one shower room, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The N Doe 30 x 10 description also mentions an L-shaped seat and a separate dining area.
  • 3-bed cue. The 35 x 10 examples are listed as 3-bedroom, 6-berth homes. Do not force that layout onto a 28 x 10.
  • No unique exterior signature. A pitched roof is mentioned in one listing, but that is ordinary for the period and will not identify the model on its own.

Specs and typical layout

Treat this as a description of listings that could be checked, not a full factory specification.

Compact Herald Gold listings (2009 to 2010):

  • 28 x 10 or 30 x 10
  • 2 bedrooms; the N Doe listing advertises 6 berth
  • 1 bathroom on the N Doe 30 x 10 description: shower, basin, WC
  • Open-plan lounge; the N Doe write-up mentions an L-shaped seat and a separate dining area
  • Fitted kitchen with cooker and fridge
  • Double glazing on the Bridlington and N Doe examples
  • Heating described as electric or all-electric (N Doe mentions electric blow heaters and no gas appliances), not as gas central heating

35 x 10 examples:

  • 35 x 10, 3 bedrooms, sleeps 6, on the 2010 North Wales Caravans listing and the 2007 directory entry
  • Bedroom split and heating type were not stated clearly enough to treat as standard

Berth counts, the Gold suffix, and the heating type all vary between listings. If your caravan is outside this cluster, or measures a different width, it needs its own description.

How much is a Willerby Herald worth?

This is a weak-evidence model for pricing. Static Caravan Buyer is not publishing a fixed trade price band for the Herald. We do not have reliable trade data for it, and the public record we found is asking prices, not completed trade purchases.

Individual valuation recommended. Values vary significantly by year, confirmed size, condition, location and whether a pitch is included.

Any cash figure depends on the year, the confirmed size, damp, heating type, what is still fitted, and how the caravan comes off the pitch.

What would Static Caravan Buyer actually pay for a Willerby Herald?

We price the caravan in front of us. A tired 28 x 10 with electric-only heating and a clean 35 x 10 3-bed are not the same offer, and neither should be guessed from a park advert.

A cash offer is money for the caravan with collection arranged. It is not a park retail price and not a best-case private sale to someone who also wants the pitch.

Willerby Herald prices you may see online

Asking prices disagree with each other, which is why they are a poor guide to cash value. Examples checked October 2026:

  • Off-site dealer asking price: £10,995 for a 2009 Herald Gold, 30 x 10, 2 bedrooms, 6 berth, double glazed, all-electric (N Doe Caravans, Horsham).
  • Sited park asking price: £8,500 for a 2010 Herald Gold, 30 x 10, 2 bedrooms, with the listing stating that the remainder of the current year's site fee is included (Keat Farm, Little Satmar).
  • Sited park asking price: reduced from £15,995 to £14,995 for a 2010 Herald, 35 x 10, 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6, marketed with a site-fees offer (North Wales Caravans).

These are asking prices only. The sited figures can include the pitch, fees and the seller's margin. The off-site figure is a dealer's retail asking price, not what a dealer paid or would pay.

Retail asking price is not the same as a private sale value, and neither is the same as a trade purchase price.

  • Trade / cash buyer: often the cleanest exit when a park age rule blocks a private transfer, or when the buyer does not want the pitch.
  • Private sale: can beat trade where someone wants the caravan for their own land or another off-site use and will arrange transport.
  • Retail / park asking price: usually the headline people remember. It is often not comparable with selling the caravan alone for removal.

What affects Willerby Herald value?

  • Confirmed size. A 28 x 10 and a 35 x 10 do not appeal to the same buyer in the same way.
  • The year, and what the paperwork actually says.
  • Damp, roof and window seals.
  • Heating that works, and whether it is electric-only or a fuller central heating system. Do not assume gas central heating on a Herald of this era.
  • Double glazing present and intact.
  • Whether the kitchen appliances are still there and working.
  • Collection access. Compact 10 ft caravans can be easier to move than a 14 ft lodge, but awkward parks still cost money.
  • Pitch-inclusive adverts versus a removal sale.

Park age limits matter to a private buyer who needs the pitch. They matter less when the caravan is being bought to come off the site.

Known features and quirks

  • Same name, uneven evidence. The solid cluster is compact and 10 ft wide, dated 2007 to 2010. A later or wider Herald may exist, but it was not established in the manufacturer and dealer sources checked for this guide. Do not backfill a "typical 35 to 40 ft" story.
  • Herald and Herald Gold both appear. Some 2009 to 2010 listings say Herald Gold. The 2010 35 x 10 listing says Herald only. The suffix alone does not tell you the specification.
  • Not a current Willerby. Buyers comparing it with a new Rio or Ashford are looking at a different product and a different price world.
  • Touring Herald is a different caravan. Old Herald Clarion or Emblem data is not a Willerby static spec.
  • Electric-only examples suit some off-site buyers and put others off. Say which you have.

Willerby Herald FAQs

Is the Willerby Herald 10 ft or 12 ft wide?

Every dated example we could check is 10 ft wide: 28 x 10 and 30 x 10 2-bed Herald Gold listings from 2009 and 2010, and 35 x 10 3-bed examples from 2007 and 2010. We did not find a reliable 12 ft example. That does not prove a 12 ft Herald never existed, so measure yours and check the paperwork.

What is a Willerby Herald Gold?

Used listings show both Herald and Herald Gold. Do not infer a universal specification difference from the suffix alone; confirm the individual caravan's year, dimensions, layout and equipment.

Is the Willerby Herald still made?

It is not on Willerby's price list effective June 2026 or on its legacy and limited edition pages. We could not establish when production ended or whether any model replaced it.

How much is a Willerby Herald worth?

We do not publish a trade price band for the Herald because we do not have reliable trade data for it. Asking prices checked in October 2026 ranged from £8,500 to £14,995, but those are sited and dealer asking prices on different bases, not trade values. A cash offer depends on the individual caravan.

Selling a Willerby Herald

If the park has written to you about age limits, or you would rather not wait for a buyer who also needs the pitch, a direct cash sale is often the simpler route.

A short 10 ft Gold and a larger 3-bed Herald need different notes on the valuation. Send the details and we will price the caravan you actually have.
