Last valuation guide update: October 2026

Introduction

The Willerby Sierra has been in Willerby's holiday home range since its launch in 2011, with a major refresh in February 2022. It is one model line with updates rather than two different models, but a 2013 Sierra and a 2023 Sierra differ in layout, door position and chassis. This guide explains how to tell them apart and how a trade valuation works.

Model history

Willerby launched the Sierra in 2011, and it has stayed in the range since. Leisuredays reviewed a 2013 35 x 12 on a fully galvanised chassis at £24,429.26 ex-works. A refreshed Sierra was launched in February 2022 with a new side door position, a new TV and fire unit, a freestanding armchair and Botanical Green kitchen doors, in 35 x 12 and 38 x 12 sizes with two or three bedrooms. Leisuredays' 2023 review noted that the galvanised chassis had become an option.

How to identify a Willerby Sierra

  • Start with the plate and paperwork. The manufacturer plate, serial or chassis number and original paperwork are the most reliable way to confirm the model and year.
  • Measure it yourself. Check the length and width with a tape rather than relying on an advert headline.
  • Look for the angled front bay window.
  • Post-2022 models have green kitchen doors with gold handles and a relocated side door.
  • Check the chassis type: galvanised or painted.
  • Check for the optional French doors (called 'Outlook' on the 2013 model).
  • An asking price is not a value. What a park or dealer is asking tells you little about what the caravan is worth to a trade buyer.

Specs and typical layout

This is a summary of the sources we found, not a full factory specification for every year.

  • 2013 review model: 35 x 12, fully galvanised chassis, aluminium cladding standard, optional 'Outlook' French doors, entry level
  • 2022 onwards: 35 x 12 two-bed (sleeps 6), 38 x 12 two-bed (sleeps 6), 38 x 12 three-bed (sleeps 8); Botanical Green kitchen, new TV and fire unit, freestanding armchair
  • Current standard (Willerby): Barley White aluminium cladding, king-size lift-up bed, built to the Willerby GreEn standard
  • Current options: central heating, French doors, galvanised chassis; dishwasher option noted in 2023

How much is a Willerby Sierra worth?

Individual valuation recommended. We do not publish a fixed trade-value band for the Sierra because year, specification, condition and collection requirements can make too much difference. One band for 'Sierra' would mislead because the name spans 2011 to 2026 with a mid-life refresh in 2022, and the chassis and central heating changed between standard and optional over that time.

What would SCB actually pay?

Our offer is a trade price for the caravan itself, collected from where it stands. It is based on the year, confirmed size and layout, condition (damp, floors, roof and chassis), heating and glazing, and how straightforward collection will be, measured against what we can realistically resell it for. On a Sierra we need the year (before or after the 2022 refresh), the chassis type and whether central heating was fitted.

A trade offer will normally be lower than the retail, park and private asking prices below. Those prices often include a pitch, siting, connections, decking, site fees or a dealer margin, and the seller has time to wait for the right buyer. A trade buyer pays for the caravan alone, arranges collection and takes on the cost and risk of resale. Individual valuation recommended: send us the plate details and some photos and we will give you a figure for your caravan.

Online prices and price context

  • Ex-works list (2013): £24,429.26 for a 35 x 12 (Leisuredays; VAT basis not stated in the review)
  • Sited park price (2023): £72,800 for a 2023 38 x 12 three-bed with wraparound decking in Fife (Leisuredays)

The 2013 figure is a new ex-works price before siting. The 2023 figure includes a pitch and wraparound decking, so the two are not comparable. These are list, dealer, park or private asking prices; we give the year where the source states one. None of them is a trade or cash buyer price, and none should be read as what a trade buyer would pay.

Retail vs private vs trade: what the numbers mean

  • Manufacturer list price (RRP) and ex-works price: what a new caravan costs from the maker or its dealers. Ex-works usually excludes delivery and siting. Some sources state whether VAT is included and some do not; where a source does not say, we say so, and those figures should not be compared directly with prices that include VAT.
  • Dealer retail asking (off-site): a dealer's price for a caravan not on a pitch. It includes the dealer's margin and often preparation or a warranty, and delivery and siting are usually extra.
  • Sited park asking: a price for a caravan on a park pitch. It often includes the pitch, siting, connections, sometimes decking and part of the site fees, and the park's margin.
  • Private asking: what an owner hopes to get. It can be higher than trade but may take a long time, and buyers often need the park's approval and a pitch.
  • Trade or cash buyer value: what a trade buyer pays for the caravan alone, collected. It is the lowest of these figures because the buyer takes on collection, any refurbishment and the resale risk, but it is usually the quickest and simplest exit.

What affects Willerby Sierra value?

  • Generation: 2011 to 2021 or post-2022 refresh.
  • Chassis: galvanised or painted.
  • Central heating: optional on current models.
  • Size and bedrooms: 35 x 12 or 38 x 12, two- or three-bed.
  • Pitch or no pitch.
  • Condition: damp, soft floors, roof, windows and chassis condition matter more than the model name.
  • Appliances and fittings: present, safe and working.
  • Collection access: how easy it is to get a vehicle to the caravan and move it off the pitch.

Known features and quirks

  • Leisuredays' 2023 review flagged limited bathroom storage and optional patio doors.
  • The 2023 three-bed has two twin bedrooms.
  • The galvanised chassis was standard on the 2013 review model but an option by 2023.

FAQs

Is the Willerby Sierra still made?

Yes. It is on Willerby's website in October 2026.

Is a 2013 Sierra the same as a 2023 Sierra?

It is the same model line, in the range since 2011, but it was refreshed in 2022 with a new door position and interior, and the chassis and heating options changed.

Does every Sierra have a galvanised chassis?

No. The 2013 review model did, but by 2023 it was an option.

Will you buy my Willerby Sierra if it is old or needs work?
