Selling a static caravan is rarely only a question of price. The pitch agreement, the age policy, anything owed to the park, and how the unit will be moved all sit alongside the caravan itself.

Static Caravan Buyer purchases static caravans and holiday lodges across England, Scotland and Wales. This page sets out how a sale with us works, what we take into account, and how that compares with selling privately or through the park. The form is there if you already want to talk. The notes below are there if you are still deciding.

How a Sale With Us Works

The order is the same whether the caravan is on a holiday park or already off the pitch. The times below are targets we work to. They are not a promise that every enquiry is answered, or every offer issued, inside that window.

1

Tell us about the caravan

Use the form, call 0800 644 5000, or WhatsApp. Make, model, year, size, condition, and the park or storage address are what make the first conversation useful. Photographs help if you have them.

2

We contact you

We aim to contact you within 24 hours of receiving your enquiry. That conversation is where we clarify condition, access, and anything the park requires before a unit can move.

3

We discuss an offer

Once we've discussed your caravan, we aim to provide a cash offer within 48 hours. The offer comes after that conversation, not at the moment you send the form. There is no obligation to accept.

4

Agree a collection date

If you accept, we agree a date with you and, where the caravan is still sited, with the park. Free UK Collection: We arrange collection ourselves or through our buyers, at no cost to you. Gate width, ground conditions, disconnection and any notice the park wants can all move that date. We do not guarantee a particular collection day.

5

Payment, then loading

You'll receive payment on the day of collection, before your caravan is loaded. We do not take the unit away and pay afterwards.

What We Take Into Account

Two caravans of the same year can attract different offers. We do not use a fixed formula, and we will not quote a price from the year alone. A conversation usually covers the points below.

  • Manufacturer and model. Some ranges are easier to place with a later buyer than others. The badge is a starting point, not a price.
  • Age. Year of manufacture matters, and so does how that year sits against the park age policy if the unit is still sited.
  • Dimensions and layout. Length, width, bedrooms, and whether it is a single unit or a larger twin unit all change transport and demand.
  • Condition. Damp, soft floors, the roof, windows, heating and appliances are discussed openly. A tired caravan can still be purchased. Condition changes the figure. It does not end the conversation by itself.
  • Location. Cornwall, a Scottish park and a storage yard are different jobs. Where the caravan sits changes the practicality of removal.
  • Market demand. Interest from buyers in the UK, and from buyers overseas, moves. A model that was straightforward last season may be quieter now, and the reverse happens too.
  • Access and removal. Gate width, ground conditions, decking, steps, services that need disconnecting, and whether a transporter can reach the pitch are part of the offer.

There is no chart on this page that turns those points into a guaranteed price. How a figure is reached is explained on our static caravan valuation page. How values tend to fall as a caravan gets older is covered in our article on how static caravan values change over time.

Private Sale, the Park, or a Trader

Most owners are choosing between a private buyer, the holiday park, and a trader who will collect the caravan. None of these is the right route every time. The differences are mostly time, certainty, and what that particular park will allow.

Selling privately

A private sale can bring more than a trade purchase when the caravan is presentable, the pitch can be transferred, and you can wait. You normally handle the listing, the enquiries, the viewings and the park's approval of a new owner. An asking price is not the same as money received, and agreed sales do fall through.

This route suits an owner with time, and a caravan that another family can still keep on a pitch. It is a weak fit when the park will not allow a private sale, or when an age rule means the caravan has to leave.

Selling through the holiday park

Some parks will market the caravan, offer a part-exchange against a newer unit, or buy it back. The convenience is real, because the park already knows the pitch and its own paperwork. The figure is often lower than a successful private sale. A part-exchange can also fold the price of the old caravan into the price of the new one, which makes the two numbers harder to compare.

What a park will do depends on that operator and that agreement. We do not treat every park as if it worked the same way.

Selling to a trader

A trader buys the caravan to move it on, sometimes after work, sometimes for export. You deal with one buyer rather than a run of private enquiries. The offer is usually below a completed private sale, because the buyer is taking on transport, any work, and the time to resell. In return you get one conversation and a collection date.

Traders differ in what they will take on. Some only want certain makes, ages or conditions. We look at a wide range, and the figure reflects the unit, the location and the cost of removing it.

A longer comparison of those three routes is in our article on a cash buyer, a private sale and a park sale. The practical differences are set out in our comparison of traders and direct buyers.

If the Caravan Is on a Holiday Park

Where the caravan is still on a pitch, the agreement matters as much as the caravan. Agreements are not standard. Read yours, and speak to the park, before you assume a new owner can take the pitch or that the unit can leave on a chosen day. Individual circumstances differ.

  • Park agreement. The licence or agreement sets out notice, who may take over the pitch, and what happens when you leave.
  • Age restrictions. Many parks limit how old a caravan on a pitch may be. The limit, and how it is applied, varies by operator and sometimes by park.
  • Outstanding site fees. Any balance is between you and the park. We do not automatically pay outstanding site fees. Agreeing a sale does not, by itself, clear them.
  • Disconnection. Gas, electricity, water and drainage usually have to be disconnected before a unit can move. The park may want its own contractor, or a period of notice.
  • Access for collection. The route from the pitch to a public road, the gates, and the ground conditions decide what vehicle can do the job.
  • Transfer or removal. Some private sales include a pitch transfer. A sale to us is normally a removal: the caravan leaves, and the pitch returns to the park under that park's rules.

Age policies are summarised on our park age limits page, and in more detail in the park age limits guide. How site fees change the decision to sell is explained in our article on site fees. What a pitch licence usually allows you to transfer is covered in the pitch licence guide. Where we have written about a particular operator, those pages start from holiday parks.

Collection and Payment

Free UK Collection: We arrange collection ourselves or through our buyers, at no cost to you. That applies to a caravan we have agreed to purchase.

The day itself is arranged around you and whatever access rules the park has set. We do not promise a particular collection day. A restricted pitch, a notice period, or a wait for services to be disconnected can change it.

On the day, the order is deliberate. Payment is made first. The caravan is not loaded, and it is not taken away, until that payment has been made. That applies on a holiday park and in storage.

Decking, steps and other extras are included only if we have agreed them beforehand. If you have the pitch agreement, a recent fee statement, and a note of how the services are disconnected, have them to hand. Photographs of the approach to the pitch are useful where access is tight.

You'll receive payment on the day of collection, before your caravan is loaded.

If the question is mainly about taking the caravan off the pitch, that part of the job is covered on our static caravan removal page.

Who We Buy From

We buy from private owners and from executors dealing with an estate. The caravan can be on a holiday park or already removed. Makes we are regularly asked about include Willerby, ABI, Atlas, Swift, Regal, Carnaby, Pemberton, Omar and Delta, along with most other UK manufacturers. If the badge is unfamiliar, send the details anyway.

Condition, including damp or a dated interior, is priced into the offer. It is not used as a reason to refuse the conversation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can I sell my static caravan?

We aim to contact you within 24 hours of receiving your enquiry. Once we've discussed your caravan, we aim to provide a cash offer within 48 hours. Those times are targets, not a guarantee. The offer follows that conversation. Collection is arranged only after you accept, and the date depends on access and any requirements the park has.

Do you buy static caravans for cash?

Yes. We buy direct from the owner. There is no seller commission taken off the figure we agree.

When do I get paid?

You'll receive payment on the day of collection, before your caravan is loaded.

Is collection free?

Yes, for a caravan we agree to purchase. We arrange collection ourselves or through our buyers, at no cost to you. The day depends on access and the park, and is not guaranteed.

Will you buy my caravan if it is still on a holiday park?

Yes. We regularly collect from Haven, Parkdean, Park Holidays, Away Resorts, Butlins and independent parks across the UK. Check your own agreement as well. Age rules, fees, disconnection and access differ from park to park.

What if site fees are outstanding?

Outstanding site fees are between you and the park. We do not automatically pay them. Check the balance and your agreement before you agree a sale. Individual circumstances differ.

What if my caravan has reached its park age limit?

Age limits are a common reason owners get in touch. Whether the caravan can stay on the pitch depends on that park's rules. We can still discuss buying it so that it can be removed.

Do you buy lodges as well as static caravans?

Yes. Tell us the make, model and size when you enquire. Lodges are covered on our sell my lodge page.

Is there any obligation if I ask for an offer?

No. Asking for an offer does not commit you to sell.
